Like so many mothers, Shawna found herself caught in the rush of everyday life — work, schedules, responsibilities — and one day realized that the conversations with her child had become surface-level. Polite. Safe. But not real.
She didn't want to lose that closeness. She wanted to know what her child was actually thinking, dreaming, worrying about. She wanted her child to know that she was truly listening.
So she started writing. Not a diary — a dialogue. Questions that invited honesty. Space for both of them to respond. A place where neither of them had to have the right answer, just a real one.
What started as a personal practice became Heart to Heart — a journal brand built for every mother who has ever felt that quiet distance and wanted to close it.
I didn't want to look back and realize I never really knew my child. I wanted to start now.
